The Wessex Charity Awards event has been created to showcase the incredible talent of individuals working in charities and not-for-profit organisations in the Wessex region.

The 2012 event follows the memorable Gala Dinner and Awards Presentation ceremony in 2010 which took place at the Winchester Guildhall and the inaugural 2009 event at the Rose Bowl. These wonderful evenings recognised the people who had made outstanding contributions to their charities.

The 2010 and 2009 events were described in the press as the ‘Charity Oscars’, and saw individuals and charities being honoured for their achievements and dedication. "Identifying examples of best practice within an organisation is so important” said Jenny Warner, lead organiser of the Wessex Charity Awards “and the creation of this regional Awards event has highlighted the need for such appreciation of their contribution to the sector”.
